Refurbishment and addition to brick bungalow, completed in 2007
A steep site sloping from street level down to a small beach with a centrally located single storey brick dwelling provided the team with major access issues.
Our plan was to start construction from the lower section and build back up the site finishing with a garage at street level. The front four rooms had to be protected during construction as they had been recently renovated.
Using our process of pre construction planning and ongoing supervision the difficulties were overcome with minimal cost and time implications.
As with most renovations, design details need to be adapted to existing site conditions and this project was no exception. With our focus on communication both client and architect were kept abreast of all developments allowing decisions to be taken within a reasonable time frame.
A beautiful expansive family home with quality finishes has been created from an ordinary bungalow on a difficult site.
